UltraMax is an enhanced fuel additive package, commonly referred to as fuel detergent. It is a sophisticated formulation of fuel detergents only available at Ultramar locations and is available in all our gasoline grades (except diesel fuel).
Yes, the Canadian government mandates that all gasoline sold in Canada must include a deposit control additive as outlined by the Canadian General Standards Board. UltraMax gasoline contains over two times the minimum quantity of fuel detergent required by government standards.
Check your Original Equipment Manufacturer’s manual to see what octane rating is right for your vehicle. It’s always best to use the fuel grade recommended in your owner’s manual. Using gasoline with an octane level lower than recommended may cause knocking to occur.
