Involvement defines the company’s activities in the communities it serves.

The company makes donations to organizations that sponsor projects taking place entirely within its operating territory. The donations evaluation committee favours sectors related to health, education, environment, children and community causes.

Centraide/United Way:
A prime example is our commitment to Centraide/United Way. Once again in 2010, generous donations from our employees, combined with Ultramar donations, allowed us to collect more than $773,000 for this campaign. Click here for more details.

Ultramar Foundation's contribution to breast cancer research:
Ultramar has been a longtime partner of the Breast Cancer Foundation. The commitment of the Company, its employees and customers is reflected in Ultramar's retail network throughout Eastern Canada.

Thanks to Ultramar's annual efforts, over $1.5 million has been raised through its Quebec retail sales locations for the Québec Breast Cancer Foundation over a six-year period.

Atlantic locations joined the program in 2010, and have collected more than $25,000 to date. Ontario locations have also joined the movement in 2011.

The Breast Cancer Foundation's goal is to fund research into breast cancer, promote breast health through education and awareness, and to offer support to persons affected by breast cancer.Click here for more details

Ultramar also supports its employees’ direct involvement in various organizations. The company accomplishes this in two ways:

  • Matching Donations Program: Ultramar earmarks its donations for regional or national institutions, foundations and organizations that stir the generosity of its employees. The company adds the equivalent of 75% of the donations made by its employees and retired personnel up to $1,000 per year, per person.
  • Community Involvement Support Program: Ultramar contributes financially to organizations in which its employees volunteer. To facilitate volunteerism, the company may also grant employees time off work or may even, in some instances, assign one or more of its employees to work for a nonprofit organization for a certain period of time.
